The Space

Your own stretch of the James River

The James River Cabin is a luxurious, secluded cabin nestled among the trees on 90 acres of riverfront property — just 10 short miles from Springfield, MO (Buc-ee’s and Bass Pro) and less than an hour from Branson. On-site activities are numerous: bicycling, trail hiking, UTV trail riding, kayaking, fishing, hot tubbing, and swimming in your own personal paradise. River access is a short but fun two-minute UTV drive from the cabin.

This uniquely rustic, modern, yet child-friendly cabin offers a fully stocked kitchen, a wood-burning fireplace (wood provided), an outdoor fire pit with string lights, a propane grill, a private hot tub, three furnished outdoor living areas, and a covered back porch with an outdoor Roku TV. The king master, tasteful decor, and cozy linens make it a true retreat. There’s even a woodland scavenger hunt (new in 2024), a reading nook, and a work station.

Guests enjoy a UTV, two single kayaks, two paddleboards, life jackets, firewood, river chairs, and indoor/outdoor games. Bring your own inflatables, fishing poles, and Bluetooth speaker for the river.

This is a RURAL cabin surrounded by trees and wildlife — the occasional bug may wander in, cell service is spotty (texts work; fiber internet is installed), and Grubhub, Uber Eats & Instacart all deliver. If you’re looking to unplug in comfort, this is your place.

The James River Cabin is the perfect place to relax and explore. The property is absolutely beautiful. My family loved riding on the UTV trails and exploring the river. The cabin is stocked with everything you need to make you feel at home — board games, puzzles, lots of cozy blankets, extra linens, and even fixings for s’mores. There are lots of restaurants and attractions just 20 minutes away in Springfield. I appreciated Rachel’s kindness and responsiveness. We would love to visit again!

We could never say enough about the James River Cabin! The hosts were excellent, the location and privacy were exactly as described and just what we were looking for. It was clear that our hosts thought of everything and put so much time and care into the cabin itself. We can’t wait to go back!

This cabin is so stunning. The craftsmanship and decor is so beautiful — such a special and unique place to stay! Our family loved how peaceful and serene this place is. Our boys loved getting out in the UTV for rides and doing the scavenger hunt. We saw deer and turtles out there. There were so many birds to watch throughout the day from the dining room too. We hope to come visit again in the future. Thank you for having us!

Awesome Airbnb — hosts are quick to respond and super helpful. The cabin is beautifully designed with a lot of nice little touches that go a long way (we loved the outdoor shower and the map/treat basket 😉). The river is gorgeous during late spring/early summer — we saw so much wildlife including deer, bunnies, fish of all kinds, water snakes, several species of turtles (including some HUGE softshells), and SO many birds. Amazing experience and can’t wait to come back!

This is a very beautiful cabin and under the right circumstances it could have been amazing. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate so we didn’t get to enjoy the amenities we were most looking forward to (the UTV and river). The cabin itself is lovely. The hosts did offer a small refund when not all the amenities were available. Weather is unpredictable, so just keep that in mind when booking.
